The Israeli state-run radio on Monday reported that five Israeli occupation soldiers had confessed to committing “degrading acts” against two Palestinian youths earlier this month.

According to the radio, the soldiers were manning a roadblock outside the Palestinian neighbourhood of Abu Dis when they allegedly detained, beat and humiliated two unidentified Palestinian boys.

According to press reports, the soldiers forced the boys into an abandoned house near the roadblock. There they urinated in to a small plastic bucket, dipped the boys’ identity cards in and, at gun point, forced them to retrieve the IDs with their mouths. Read more »

Carlos Machuca, a tamale-maker in the western city of Morelia killed his drinking buddy, cut up his body and boiled him in herbs, according to police who fear he may have been turning him into tamales. Cops found a man’s mutilated corpse in the living room and body parts simmering in aluminum saucepans on the patio. According to Lorena Cortes, a spokeswoman for Michoacan state prosecutors, it didn’t take long to put two-and-two together, “We saw the flesh and the tamales, and our first impression was that he was making tamales with the flesh of the deceased, although it has yet to be confirmed.”

East German voters showed the politicians that they are sick of the status quo on Sunday when far from center political parties made the largest gains in recent history. The NPD, National Democratic Party, won 9.4 percent of the vote and secured a say in the government. This, just after the government tried to outlaw the NPD last year, accusing it of being a neo-nazi party. The party of German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, the Social Democrat Party, polled just below 10 per cent, which is their lowest result in the party’s 140-year history. The NPD leader in Saxony stated that Sunday was “a great day for all Germans who want to stay Germans.” The Party of Democratic Socialism received the most votes in recent history with 28.3 percent. The PDS is the successor to East Germany’s Communist party. As the economy, falters the mainstream politicians will be left on the sidelines.

The magazine this week published articles revealing what was said during a police interview with Bryant during their immediate investigation into the rape charges. Zambian police have arrested a man who
exhumed, cooked and ate part of his grandson’s corpse, police said on Monday.
