A Trinity International University minority student unhappy about attending the school was charged with a hate crime after she confessed to sending racially threatening mail to minority classmates, prompting a temporary evacuation of black and Latino students from campus, authorities said Tuesday.
Alicia Hardin, 19, of Chicago, an African-American woman, was trying to convince her parents that the Bannockburn school was too dangerous for her, police said.
“We believe she wanted to attend a different college, and she thought if her parents saw Trinity as an unsafe environment, they’d let her transfer,” Lake County Assistant State’s Atty. Matthew Chancey said.More on this…..

Demjanjuk appeal rejected…. |

|
CLEVELAND-A federal appeals court rejected the argument of an accused Nazi death-camp guard that he’s a victim of mistaken identity - and that the government has a document that could help prove it.
The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati on Wednesday ruled against retired autoworker John Demjanjuk, 84, whose legal fight spans nearly a quarter century. He had contended that the Justice Department has a letter he wrote in 1941 to his parents in the Ukraine and signed “Vanya,” the informal form of his first name, Ivan.
His appeal insisted the handwriting differs from that of an Ivan Demjanjuk signature on a Nazi guard training camp identification card in 1943 - and that the Justice Department ignored an obligation to find experts to examine the two signatures.more…

Sears Holding, the nations third-largest retailer, is in the process of creating a new line of clothing which caters specifically to Mexican women. This new line of clothing, which will be coming out in Sears Department Stores this fall, will be called Latina Life apparel. Sears says that the Hispanic market is important since they represent “more than 13 percent of the U.S. population.” (Perhaps someone should tell them what percentage of the U.S. population is composed of White people. I’m sure Sears would be just as anxious to start selling Aryan Wear.) more>>>

Today Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger of Germany became Pope Benedict XVI. Ratzinger was close to the last pope, John Paul II. Ratzinger does have an interesting past and the reaction to his past should prove quite interesting. Ratzinger was a part of the German Youth Party (Hitler Youth) back in 1941. In 1943 he was in a German anti-aircraft unit, and finally he became a German soldier in 1945. He is also quite conservative and has recently spoken out agaist Marxism and liberalism. How will the Jews react to this choice? Read more »

|
MIAMI (AP) - The federal government on Friday reached a $25.5 million settlement with the families of Hungarian Holocaust victims and will acknowledge the U.S. Army’s role in commandeering a trainload of the families’ treasures during World War II.
Under terms of the settlement, the money will be distributed to needy Hungarian Holocaust survivors rather those who lost family possessions.
“The case never really was about money alone. It was about having a reckoning with history,” said Sam Dubbin, one of the families’ lawyers. He called the agreement “a great outcome.”

Matt Hale Sentenced to 40 Years in Prison |
| April 7th, 2005 under Heather Wright, Top Stories. [ Comments: 2 ]

|
Matt Hale was sentenced on Wednesday to 40 years in prison on charges of trying to have federal judge Joan Humphrey Lefkow killed. Judge Lefkow had ruled against Hale in a case involving his use of the name “World Church of the Creator” for his church. Soon after, Hale was accused of trying to have the judge killed. The situation was obviously made worse for Hale when the judge’s mother and husband were killed recently by a man completely unassociated with Hale. Prosecutors argued that Hale was “extremely dangerous” and should get the maximum sentence of 40 years and the judge agreed. Both Hale and his parents were shocked by the sentence. more>>>

Police Officers Lose Case Over “Racist” Tattoos |
| April 7th, 2005 under Heather Wright, Top Stories. [ Comments: 2 ]
|
|
A federal judge recently ruled that former Hartford, Connecticut Police Chief Bruce Marquis (pictured) did not violate the rights of 5 police officers by making them cover up spider web tattoos. Officer Keith Knight had complained that the spider web tattoos worn by 3 of his fellow officers were offensive to him because “the spider web tattoos symbolize race hatred of non-whites and Jews.” After Knight’s complaint, 2 other officers in the department obtained similar spider web tattoos as a form of protest and a symbol of solidarity with the other 3 officers. The officers argued that the tattoos were only decorative and that making them cover up their tattoos violated their freedom of speech. However, a federal judge found that the police department, which is in a predominantly non-white area, had “a legitimate interest in fostering harmonious racial relations both within the department and within the community” and dismissed the case. more>>

Hmong rape gangs prowling our streets |
| April 5th, 2005 under Immigration, Race, Top Stories. [ Comments: 20 ]
|
|
Throughout the United States, the number of Hmong gangs and the level of their criminal activity is increasing in severity. Their participation in criminal activity has evolved over time. During that evolution, they have become involved in a wide range of crimes, such as homicides, gang rapes, prostitution, home invasions, burglaries, auto thefts, and, most recently, the sale and distribution of illicit drugs.
The crime of rape, however, with its violent nature, its strong incorporation into the gang’s operational structure, and the serious implications for the victim and the overall Hmong community, represents a particular concern to the law enforcement profession and requires a special focus to find ways of decreasing its occurrence. To this end, the law enforcement community must examine the unique structure of Hmong gangs, including their historical and cultural influences, and the characteristics of the “ritual” use of rape by these gangs and the impact on the victims.more….

Sleepwalking to disaster in Iran |

Late last year, in the aftermath of the 2004 Presidential election, I was contacted by someone close to the Bush administration about the situation in Iraq.
There was a growing concern inside the Bush administration, this source said, about the direction the occupation was going.
The Bush administration was keen on achieving some semblance of stability in Iraq before June 2005, I was told.
When I asked why that date, the source dropped the bombshell: because that was when the Pentagon was told to be prepared to launch a massive aerial attack against Iran, Iraq’s neighbour to the east, in order to destroy the Iranian nuclear programme. Continued>>>

White cops win discrimination suit in Milwaukee |

|
A federal jury has reached a verdict in a case brought by seventeen white male police officers in Milwaukee who claimed the citys former police chief discriminated against them by giving promotions to women and minorities ahead of them.
The jury reached its verdict Tuesday, and will re-convene in a week to decide how much to award the officers in damages. The officers are seeking more than $5 million and an immediate promotion to captain if applicable. Two are now captains, and two others are retired.
“Total victory,” proclaimed one of the plaintiffs, Lt. Steven Alexander.
The charges centered around the officers claims that former Chief Arthur Jones, who is black, discriminated against them in the promotion process by repeatedly promoting women and minorities to captain ahead of better-qualified white men.more…
