4 Black Teens Charged With Gang Raping A Disabled White Girl Claim To Be The Victims

Lockport-Suspects4.jpgFour 16-year-old blacks are charged in the gang rape in May of a 15-year-old white disabled girl at the home of one of the boys. Lockport, New York police say the attackers violated the girl and recorded the assault with a cell phone camera. The teens befriended the girl then lured her to the home of one of the attackers on May 12, where they took turns attacking her over an hour and a half, said Detective Capt. Lawrence Eggert. He said both the victim and the suspects were students at Lockport High School. The four charged are: Dontre R. Woods, Dartain M. Ubiles, Nicholas M. Smith, and Antonio J. Sheppard (all pictured right). Woods was charged with felony first-degree rape and felony criminal sexual act for using a broom handle to violate the girl. Smith was charged with first-degree rape and first-degree criminal sexual act and aggravated sexual abuse. Kelly Campbell, captain of the Lock Street Block Club, a neighbor of the Woods family, said she was sad about what happened to the girl, but was also sad for the four youths. “None of these kids would have done this on his own. I don’t think they are that kind of kids, but they made a huge mistake, which will affect their whole lives,” Campbell said. She blamed both raging hormones and children in the blighted area having nowhere to redirect their energy. The Rev. Mark Sanders, a Lockport community policing aide and local pastor, said the four boys are themselves victims. “I think all the facts are not out,” he said. “These boys have already been demonized and tried. It’s wrong to make a judgment before all sides have been heard.” “They are all broken up,” he added. “They come from good homes. They are athletes who box and play football. These are not thugs from the street. None of them have ever been in jail.” Sanders said he also sympathized with the 15-year-old girl and called her situation traumatizing. “My heart is broken. Sexuality is a big problem for teens,” Sanders said. (And with all the violin playing for the poor mistreated black rapists, does anyone still remember the little disabled White girl who was gang raped? Or does she just not matter? After all, it is not like she will have to deal with the consequences of the rapists’ actions her whole life. Lets all focus on those poor, poor black rapists who just had to attack her because they had nowhere else to “direct their energies.”) Source>>>

follow up….Two teens, involved in high profile rape case, busted again
    Jump to Comments

You may remember these two teens from their alleged involvement in the high-profile rape case last year.

At that time, Smith was found guilty of sexual misconduct — a misdemeanor. Sheppard pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child.

Here’s a release we got just minutes ago. Again, everything alleged. I guess the alleged incident took place in March:

    NEW YORK STATE POLICE
    PRESS RELEASE

July 21, 2008 – Lockport, NY – On July 17, 2008 the New York State Police arrested NICHOLAS M. SMITH, age 18, of Crosby Ave., Lockport, NY and ANTONIO J. SHEPPARD, age 18, of Gabriel Drive, Lockport, NY for Sexual Misconduct, a class A Misdemeanor.

SMITH and SHEPPARD were arrested following an investigation which revealed the two subjects engaged in sexual intercourse with two fifteen year old females in the Town of Lockport.

SMITH and SHEPPARD are scheduled to appear before the Town of Lockport Justice Court on July 24, 2008 at 9:00 AM before Town Justice RAYMOND SCHILLING.

    From their sentencing story:

Smith’s attorney, Anthony Lana, said he had “mixed feelings” about his client’s sentence; while he was grateful for the youthful offender status, he said he did not believe Smith deserved jail time.

Lana said Smith was found guilty of sexual misconduct only because the victim was under the age of consent at the time of the crime. During the trial, Smith admitted on the stand to having sex with the victim, so the jury “had no choice” but to convict him of that, Lana said.

“He’s a nice kid. This is not a criminal individual,” Lana said. “Is it something he’s proud of? No. Is it something he’d do again? No. But is it criminal?”

Lana said Smith has had trouble finding a job since the incident hit the media, and he was kicked off the football team at Lockport High School.

Smith told Sperrazza that he has struggled in school in the past year because of the pending court case.

“When I went back to school I thought about this all the time,” he said. “It was a mistake that happened, and I learned my lesson.”

Sperrazza said she saw a lack of remorse in Smith’s statements, however, especially as Lana argued before sentencing that the victim shared some responsibility in what happened

“Everybody had a part in this, not just the defense,” Lana said. “I’ve seen (Smith) suffer enough, judge.”

Sperrazza said getting poor grades in school is “not punishment.”

“You see yourself as a victim, and that concerns me greatly,” she told Smith.
