ALBION — More than 20 people gathered at City Hall today to pray over a school discipline policy dispute and an accusation that race affected the handling of some arrests at Albion High School. Parents and others attended Monday\’s City Council meeting to protest the fact that the Albion Department of Public Safety handcuffed and took to jail four black students involved in an altercation last week, but allowed parents to pick up one white student and one bi-racial student involved in another fight two days later. That led to the call for today\’s noon prayer session, planned for the City Hall steps but moved indoors because of the cold wind that whipped down Cass Street, sending shivers through those gathered on the steps. Yeah the Police usually allow VICTIMS of assault to go home! What a joke, the white and light skinned student were attacked by the Blacks, its pretty darn simple. You assault someone and YOU are the one that stays in jail.
