At least 97 tubs, some measuring more than three feet in diameter, have been dug up so far in the tannery, archaeologists said. Read more »

By Curt Maynard

Mark Glenn is an accomplished author and the webmaster of Crescent and the Cross -

As a politically correct apostate I have rejected the religion of political correctness which has freed me from the dogmatic and confining requirement to please everyone all the time. This allows me to write what I like, when I like, and about whom I like without qualms. I am completely free of the self imposed limitations that an embrasure of the PC Agenda guarantees and I prefer it that way.

Mark Glenn too is a politically correct apostate; he more than proves this with his latest book “No Beauty in the Beast: Israel Without Her Mascara.” Glenn has taken political incorrectness to a whole new level, this book hones in on Israel like no other I have ever read. Read more »

July 31st, 2007 under Israel & Jewish Issues, Top Stories. [ Comments: 3 ]

dachau1.jpgJERUSALEM - An Israeli government offer of a new $20 monthly stipend for Holocaust survivors provoked outrage Tuesday, with survivors charging the meager allowance will do nothing to make up for years of neglect of the 240,000 Israelis who lived through Nazi horrors.

Survivors have long claimed that European countries treat them far better than Israel, where many elderly survivors live in poverty. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s announcement of the new allowance did nothing to change that impression. One survivor called the offer “absurd and insulting.” Read more »

Film review of NIGHT AND FOG
July 27th, 2007 under Real History, Top Stories. [ Comments: 1 ]

dachau.jpgLet me get this out of the way. I am not an anti-Semite. And Night And Fog is not a good documentary, assuming it can even be called a documentary.

I say this because the near universal praise for Alain Resnais’s 1955 black and white, and color, film is ill-founded. Most of it has to do with a) the seeming impolitic nature of criticizing anything that displays Nazi butchery, and b) the fact that the 31-minute long film was the first “real” attempt at categorizing the Nazi horrors of World War Two to the world at large. This was long before canonical terms and figures like “The Holocaust” or “six million” dead Jews were prevalent in pop culture. Read more »

Historian wants ‘Mein Kampf’ to be re-published
July 27th, 2007 under Top Stories. [ Comments: 2 ]

mein kampf1.jpgA German historian has called for Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler’s anti-Semitic book “Mein Kampf” to be reprinted and put back on sale in German bookshops. Horst Möller, director of the Institute of Contemporary History in Munich, said the move would be preferable to waiting until 2015, when anybody could publish it after copyright on the book in Germany lapses. Möller said it would be better to issue an edition now, with footnotes explaining page by page how Hitler was wrong, rather than wait for cheap commercial editions that could appear without commentary. Now, only purchasers who can prove an academic purpose may secure a copy of “Mein Kampf” within Germany. As the copyright holder, the State of Bavaria has refused to authorise the printing of a new edition. “Mein Kampf,” which translates at “My Struggle,” is available online and published in most countries, including Israel.  SOURCE>>>

camden swizz beatz.jpgThe hip-hop star known as Swizz Beatz rolled over to a city park in a black Cadillac Escalade Thursday night, wowed the thousands gathered with a mix of old-school beats and rhymes, and then used a bit of showmanship to address the controversy swirling around his appearance.

Just as Mayor Gwendolyn Faison had promised, the rapper avoided the violent, misogynistic lyrics that had prompted a public rebuke from the police department and a small protest outside city hall earlier in the day.

Then, he dared to do it: He rapped “It’s Me Snitches,” his new single and the very song that bothered some in the community because it seems to say that people who report crime to the police should be punished on the streets. Read more »
