JERUSALEM (Reuters) - President George W. Bush told Israelis on Thursday they were a “chosen people” who can forever count on American support against enemies like Hamas and Iran.
On a day when Palestinians remembered homes and land lost as Israel was created in 1948, Bush made only fleeting reference to their aspirations for a state of their own in a speech marking Israel’s 60th anniversary that was laced with references to God.
Basking in ovations on the second day of a farewell visit to a country where his presidency is hailed as a golden age, Bush again said little of the talks he has sponsored in recent months between Israel and the Palestinians, which he hopes can bring a deal on a Palestinian state before he leaves office in January. The Democratic presidential race may have a bit more life in it, but Sens. Barack Obama and John McCain are already waging a bruising battle for Jewish support in the general election.
In recent days, the McCain team has stepped up its efforts to associate Obama to Hamas, with several surrogates also misrepresenting the Democratic candidate’s comments to make it seem as if he had criticized Israel.
At the same time, Obama has been stepping up his outreach to Jewish voters, giving several high-profile interviews and speeches outlining his support for Israel and ties to the Jewish community. Read more »

The powers that be are glad that race is finally coming up regarding the latest presidential election. That is because the race card and the demon of ‘racism’ have been their largest investment.
How many whites would vote for Barack Obama, just to show that they aren’t racist? I think a majority of them would. Nobody wants to be called a racist. That would be as bad as driving a 6 year old vehicle or not having your suburban lawn closely manicured. The majority of whites live in the suburbs and pay outrageous taxes. They work more hours just so they can fit into the norm, so why wouldn’t their need to fit in and be cool effect their vote? Even though many whites know deep down inside that they don’t want a black president, they are taught that part of being hip and cool today is fighting that natural urge and going out of your way to help non-whites.

Well, it turns out that I forgot to pack a belt today, and I really needed one. So, as I was having these thoughts, I also decided to stop by the Gap Outlet to grab one on clearance. After locking up my bike outside the store on Chestnut, I turned around and I saw the two wheat pastings posted above. The big one you will recognize. The smaller one, atop it, you probably won’t. [Notice the ‘Fight Back!’ recent slogan used by KSS, Newsnet14 and aryanwear]
Now, I’m not 100% sure what to make of it, to be honest. I’ve been in this whole liberal business long enough to have seen anti-racist posters/pastings/fliers designed to provoke conversation/thought in such a way that they almost seemed racist. Since I can’t figure out what the heck the propagandist here means by “…next,” I’m sort of scratching my head on this one. Read more »
