‘Dangerous’ suspects could be asked immigration status

Posted on 26. Jan, 2009 by Shera Crossan in Hidden Crimes, Immigration, Politics, Shera Crossan, Top Stories

ICE has a “law enforcement support center” that any local jurisdiction can call to inquire about someone’s immigration status.

After meeting with advocates from both sides of the immigration debate, Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett will decide in the next 10 days whether to allow county officers to ask federal immigration agents to determine if suspects arrested for violent crimes and weapons violations are in the country illegally.

Leggett (D) and his top officials are still hammering out key details, but County Council President Philip M. Andrews told Gazette editors and reporters Thursday that Police Chief J. Thomas Manger wants the new policy to apply to “dangerous” crimes. Those crimes include murder, rape, aggravated assault, robbery, arson, larceny, as well as misdemeanors such as home break-ins, simple assault, weapons violations and driving under the influence.

The change is meant to close gaps in the judicial system exposed primarily by the shooting death of 14-year-old Tai Lam on a Ride On bus in November, allegedly at the hands of an illegal immigrant with ties to the gang MS-13.  source

This news article makes my blood boil and pisses me off more then anything. Thank you a244 for submitting it, so I could post it.

I’m glad there is this “New Interest in questioning ones citizenship, but whats the sudden oh like it’s a new power bestowed on ICE and the Government”
This is nothing more then lies, Oh what they weren’t allowed to ask about the legal status of someone who commits a crime prior to Obongo getting elected. Here’s the biggest one you all are ignoring “Illegal Aliens” They broke the law entering the Country and what do they do but reward them for Illegal Behavior, and other BS…..I could go on and on but I won’t right now

I live in the Peoples Republic of Montgomery County (has one of the highest income rates in the USA) and they have had a problem with illegals for quite awhile. Everyone is fed up with the problem including the large number of brain dead liberals that live here (they finally figured out that the illegals were committing quite a bit of crime including murder). This is a county that has tree police, owns the liquor stores, has opened day labor centers and gives money to CASA MD, which is an illegal enabler organization. I can’t wait for the day until I can move out of this area.

We are seeing the beginning of the breakup of the United States.

Not so “united” any more. Our country will become a patchwork of states and counties with “sanctuary” governments that are nearly always bankrupt.

We may see roadblocks across state and even county lines.

I like to be prepared. I carry my passport and I WELCOME any pro forma questions about my citizenship. I suggest others do the same.

Our federal government is losing credibility every day. We see the supremes having private chats with a party at law — something they’re not supposed to do.

We see documents attacked as forgeries.

Tip O’Neill said, “All politics is local.” It’s up to the residents of Montgomery County to get interested in LOCAL government.

Do we live in a fucked up country or what? Ridiculous….can’t determine if someone is an illegal alien.

We are in a serious downward spiral to extermination. When you see most of our Jews heading to Israel you can bet the nukes we gave Israel are about to fall on our own heads!

While reading this article, a thought struck me. If the dangerous suspects immigrant status is in question, would the immigrant in question be able to get out of it by pulling the race card?

Great Point New Guy, I’m sure they would be able to try and trump it with some sort of Amnesty bs, especially if they are apprehended or in a sanctuary city. Kinda like they granted citizenship/Amnesty to a Mexican who had been caught doing something in San Fran, by saying that he was gay.

Alright also are they doing the proof of Citizenship like they did during the Presidential Election like they did in Ohio and I’m sure other states. Check a box are you a US Citizen and do you have proof of a Mailing Address.
