New Texas gun law center of controversy

A proposed Texas state law that would allow residents to carry a firearm to work could create potential deadly situations, business interests say.
Business groups argue that if Texas residents are allowed to carry firearms to and from their workplaces there is potential for a deadly rampage by a frustrated worker during the ongoing economic crisis, the Austin (Texas) American-Statesman said Wednesday.
The bill would allow Texas residents to travel to work with a firearm in their car and leave the weapon in the vehicle while working.
Those in support of Senate Bill 730, which was created by state Sen. Glenn Hegar, R-Katy, argue that firearms in the workplace would help create safety amid the current recession and its resulting increase in crime. More News

If a mentally unstable disgruntled employee wants to “shoot up” his work place, he won’t care whether taking a firearm to the parking lot is legal. On the other hand, taking one’s firearm to work makes it easier to leave early on Friday for a hunting trip, or to go directly from work to the taget range. I propose that any establishment that doesn’t want guns create a procedure to securely check guns at the entry desk. For example, every tavern should have a gun check safe right next to the coat and hat check rack.
This is only a controversy for people who don’t know anything about guns. I know dozens of gun owners who do this already and have been doing it for ages.
There is no logic in he anti-gun position. They quote over and over made up statistics that are FALSE. I dare them to actually check the facts and not the repeated nonsense they made up. Truth is more gun rights means LESS crime. Case after case proves that fact around the world. Reducing gun rights ALWAYS results in more crime. The truth is there but they just don’t want to see it. For them its not about the truth. Its about controling everybody else.
I think this is great. People drive cars that at a moments notice could be used to kill people but most people drive and as such few problems with sickos. When good people carry guns bad ones will stop doing crime, this was proven in Tennesse many years ago when local Judge made it law and for over 20 years all crime in town stopped. This is wonderful. The states with the hardest gun laws have the most crime and the states with the easiest guns laws have the least crime. I love it.
