On Friday, a New York jury sentenced Rockland County Rabbi, Israel Weingarten to prison for abusing his daughter for nine years, having taken her abroad at the age of nine to facilitate the perversion.
The now 27-year-old victim read out her testimony against Weingarten saying the assault, which also reportedly included repeated sodomy, continued until she was 18.
The convict’s son also bore witness against him.
“Your honor, I don’t think I would ever be able to forgive what my father has done to my sister and to my siblings,” read his testimony. “I’m not going to forgive him for causing great pain and suffering to me and my dear sister.”
The Rabbi unsuccessfully tried to nullify the evidence after asking his other children to implicate his wife during the previous trial. The 59-year-old even resorted to representing himself saying he was not content with his attorneys. news source
