Former Top Rated NRA Senator to Introduce Gun Ban . . .

Posted on 16. May, 2009 by Shera Crossan in Events, Gun Control, Opinion, Politics, Shera Crossan, Top Stories

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Democrat and member of the so-called Blue Dog Coalition, plans to introduce an assault weapons ban this week. Gillibrand, the junior senator from New York, was at one time highly rated by the NRA for her advocacy of the Second Amendment.

Newsday claims Gillibrand has “undergone a transformation” over the last three months and has moved away from “her House record that won the NRA’s top rating while remaining a supporter of Second Amendment rights to gun ownership.” Since her Senate appointment, she has “passed just about every test on guns set by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy,” who reintroduced a bill closing the so-called gun-show loophole at a news conference last week.H.R. 2159

It appears likely Ms. Gillibrand was a gun-grabber all along and used the Second Amendment as an election ploy. Polls indicate a large percentage of voters strongly support the Second Amendment.

McCarthy’s bill, H.R. 6676, would utilize the National Instant Criminal Background Check System for background checks on all gun store employees and dealers. In addition to H.R. 6676, three other bills have been offered including laws that would make it illegal for known or suspected terrorists to buy guns.

I bet the answer from the NRA is send more money…. Try GOA http://gunowners.org/

The NRA has changed positions more than Anna Nichole after a fifth of scotch….

We really need to throw these vile creatures OUT on their asses. All the way out.

Squarepeg has it right. The NRA is constantly asking for more money. Your money is better sent to Gunowners of America and The Firearms Coalition.

This happened in my state. Coming up, these politicians have one position and, once there, on the mountaintop, they flip-flop. She ain’t the only one.

The root cause of this is the suppression of minor parties, thus depriving the voter of any meaningful choice. It only LOOKS like a popular vote, but it’s not. That’s America’s dirty little secret.

Foreign sites should bring this out.

One needs to ask, “Why is our government trying to disarm us?”

What evil motives are behind this? The reason is obviously to stop your ability to defend yourself. But from whom will you be needing the defense our government so desparately wants to take away? There are more deaths in the country from medical malpractice than from guns, either accidental or on purpose, yet, we don’t see our government banning doctors.

So, why does our government want our weapons? It would seem the government does not want the citizens to be able to protect themselves from government.

Our government is about to go to war against more of Israel’s enemies. Obama is already reinstating the draft under the guise of “Two Years of Community Service” for each person.

Things are about to get bad if the government is wanting to take away your “Teeth” so that you cannot bite back.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand knows who runs things and she has sold out….if she was ever on the wagon to start with.

    Make war by deception.

John, I agree with you. The government, whether it is the USA or Canada or Europe, wants subjects not citizens. They want the sweat of our brow, the fruit of our labors and quiet, complacent behavior.

“Back in the day” the government was trusted.

    That trust is being lost.

“Back in the day” it would be unthinkable for a minority (us) to challenge the legitimacy of a president IN COURT.

I think Rockeller gave us the government”s position by saying something to the effect:

The internet should never have existed.

Government won’t say much but, as I said before, they’re confronted with a tiger that “should never have existed”.

Government has a “circle the wagons” mentality.

That’s why they want to disarm us.

a244, I agree with you. Except for some rare exceptions it matters not whether they are Democrats or Republicans, they are both part of the Zionist/Libtard/Elite/OneWorld fraternity.

I agree that the government is running scared, which is why they want to squelch free speech (all in the name of everyone making nice with each other), decide which news or commentators you should listen to and grab your guns.

People need to start making a big stink NOW!! Call congress and complain. They only understand one thing and that is getting kicked to the curb by their electorate and losing out on the “gravy train”.

Jam, the average person won’t “make a stink”, now or ever.

The government school conditioning process steers people AWAY from communication.

Do you think, Jam, that the average citizen has a supply of #10 envelopes, stamps and paper? Much less a typewriter or computer printer? Do you think, Jam, that the average citizen is going to an office supply and BUY #10 envelopes, stamps and paper?

The average citizen is hosed with endless trivia. The romantic doings of a Brad Pitt flood the “supermarket press”, along with “Batboy”. Somebody has to be paying money for that shit, because it’s constantly being updated.

I never dwell on WHO our enemies are. I knew that 50+ years ago. I dwell on their ACTS and suggest effective resistance. Simply knowing means nothing.

I am very happy that some bimbo beauty queen, whose name I forget, believes in heterosexual marriage. I really listen to her and I am going to run out and marry a woman, just as soon as I finish this.

This does not have much to do with a constructive comment but that image draws me into the article. I am not going to get all artsy about it but the structure, and pull and push at the edges is for me very exciting. Not to mention another good post!

a244, you are of course right. The majority of people will not make a stink, but I do think that more and more people are waking up.

Years ago I was like most people and only complained about the government but about 10 years I started to “wake up” to what was going on and the Internet certainly played a part in that. Now I regularly write or call my elected officials.

Actually, this is Gun Ban Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) whom stated that she would be introducing the assault weapons ban, NOT Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), although Kirsten has taken a radical turn to the LEFT since she left the House of Representatives, after being appointed to the U.S. Senate to replace Billary Clinton’s empty seat, by N.Y. Governor Patterson…
