She is handing the reins over to Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell, who will be sworn in at the governor’s picnic in Fairbanks on July 26. Parnell and most of Palin’s cabinet and Palin’s family were at the announcement.
Palin was vague about why exactly she is stepping down rather than finish out her first term, which ends in 2010.
“We know we can effect positive change outside government at this point in time on another scale and actually make a difference for our priorities,” she said. She added that she was tired of what she described as “superficial, wasteful, political bloodsport.” Source>>>

Obama just locked in his second term.
I wouldn’t jump the gun, and insist that this is a life-changing event. She very well may gain quite a bit of support from this move, based on her statement thus far.
The world hasn’t really heard Palin. Perhaps she has something of substance to say on a variety of issues. (i.e., if she gets a radio show to gather support for 2012, so be it).
However, I don’t think our problems can be settled through the political system anymore. Northwest Migration is our only remaining solution…
She saw political ambitions are impossible without swearing loyalty to Israel and becoming a traitor.
She saw that the Jew owned press is ruthless…blood thirsty….and lying. She saw the dishonesty of politics on the top.
She also had a nice rack!
When Palin ran for VP I repeatedly quoted Garner:
Garner once described the office of the vice presidency as being “not worth a bucket of warm piss.
John Nance Garner IV , 1868 – 1967
This affair is just screentrash.
Looks like more political crap to me. Odd how she stepped down on the 4th of July.
im a fan of hers, but her resignation speech was all over the map and hard to listen to.im not sure what she is trying to acheive.
