Brushing the teeth on a Corpse

I was just sent this email by a friend. I thought I would share some of it and my response.

I love my country so read the labels! We can change things! Lets do it!!!!

We’re killing this country with all these imports (big business making more off our buying foreign)!
In our current economic situation, every little thing we buy or do affects someone else and perhaps even their job.
So, after reading this email, I think this lady is on the right track. Let’s get behind her!!

My grandson likes Hershey’s candy. It is marked made in Mexico now. I do not buy it any more. My favorite toothpaste, Colgate,
is made in Mexico now. I have switched to Crest. You have to read the labels on everything.

You get the jist of the message, and I am sure you have seen this stuff before. So here is my response, let me know what you think…

The problem is a little deeper than that, our nation is sick with a terminal disease, and buying crest or colgate wont help.

We don’t run our nation anymore, we haven’t for decades. Our nation is run by people who put themselves and the interests of their lobbyists over our safety, our health and our well being. This goes for Govt. and Corporate. America. When you live in a nation that puts dollars above the lives of its people and corporate profits above the well being of our children then its beyond time to change brands, we need a fundamental change in the way we look at government. We have to have control of our destiny, we deserve the right to decide the fate of our children and what is best for them, and to hell with anyone or any corporation who wants to decide that for us.

This is the flaw in Democrazy, we let those with more dollars decide the fate of those who actually made the country a good place to be at one time. You can buy votes, or import enough “new Americans” to control things the way you want.

The puppet show is now starting to be seen for what it is. Every 4 years they change the puppet and it makes us feel warm and fuzzy, and gets us riled up, while the same hand is up its a** Then we are stupid enough to act surprised when all the campaign promises that the puppet told us he would keep for us are forgotten and the puppeteer takes us ever closer to oblivion and a communist state.

Furthermore us Americans need to be forced to see how sick things have gotten, how bad it actually is. This downturn in the economy is just a taste of what’s to come, and while it is a bad taste its very necessary!!

They plan on making us a third world country, and guess what… They are succeeding at it! If we make things a little cushier for us, it will just enable us to think its ok and go back to watching our ball games, and hollywood garbage as we always have, meanwhile inching ever closer to the abyss.  We need to realize, when we hear of job losses its not “just my neighbor” or “just my cousin” its going to be you next, its just happening slow so as to not alarm anyone into being upset enough to do anything about it. Now things have actually sped up to the point where people have woken up from their ball game and tv induced coma to see that they are in danger. When they see the banksters getting away with billions of their money and still more billions are being sent to foreign countries that attack and spies on us ( starts with an I and ends with an L) people might just get mad enough when the government doesn’t have a nickel to spare to help pay for their hungry kids.

Thats my rant, by what ever tooth paste you wish, if you buy “American” its probably made in a plant full of illegal immigrants from Haiti!
