Americans threatened with jail time, huge fines . . .

There’s a popular video circulating on the ‘net right now about how to escape handcuffs without using a key. Americans are watching the video to bone up on essential skills that will soon be needed for health care reform, it seems, since the new laws that are about to be put in place call for Americans to be arrested and thrown in jail if they refuse to buy health insurance.
This has now been confirmed by Tom Barthold, the Chief of Staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation. And it’s not merely about jail time; it’s also about the $25,000 fine that could be levied by the IRS against individuals who refuse to buy health insurance.
That this is even being considered just boggles the mind. If a person is too broke to afford health insurance right now, how are they supposed to be able to buy it after paying a $25,000 fine and spending a year in prison?
When the annual insurance premium for a family of four is something above $13,000, that’s a terrible financial burden that many Americans simply can’t afford to pay — especially when so many people have lost their jobs due to the faltering economy.
The brutal facts of the matter are inescapable: The American people are too broke to buy their own health insurance, and the American government is too broke to buy it for them. The whole nation is going bankrupt over runaway health care costs. And why?more

Yeah, this does not make sense. How can one be fined and or imprisoned for NOT buying health insurance when one does not have the necessary means such as a job and or extra money to do so and or if you place them in jail. Way to go Obongo, you have found a new level of stupidity.
Joe, my thoughts exactly!
on a smaller scale in the state of nevada, the dept. of motor vehicles contacts the sheriff’s office to suspend your license plates if you allow your insurance policy to lapse even one day.when you let your insurance lapse you get a letter from d.m.v telling you to pay 250.00 immediately or your license plates are suspended and law enforcement will pull you over and fine you for no insurance and suspended registration.the problem with nevada’s law is that the poorest people who couldnt pay insurance {via food or insurance} pick food, those folks often times have suspended plates and the fines act only make things even worse on them.also people say changing policies or non updated files cause people in nevada to pay this fine multiple times or without warrant.where as the d.m.v. {the state} says you lapsed “pay up we dont care what your evidence to the contrary is.”alot of folks get totally screwed over by this law and its no wonder that the state workers at d.m.v all have brand new vehicles and lots of money in the budget off i what i call a racket or scam law.enjoy nevadas insurance laws {home of harry reid}. now the government sees the money making potential off this on a smaller scale and wants to make it the national law regarding health insurance.they say its a favor to you but its just a favor to insurance companies who line the pockets of the left and the right.
Just another way to control us, punish the not-rich, and to push their sick, communist agenda further. Why won’t communism get shot in the face and die already?
True it boggles the mind, but that is what it is supposed to do,condition you,and since you can not react in any meaningfull way,you are forced to accept it,so now when something more monsterous is announced in future, you will forget the last imposition and rail against the new one,and every time this happens you quit the ground and retreat to a new position, having lost another area of your personal freedom, which the “administration”quickly fills with more laws to prevent you from re-occupying the ground that you have just lost.where will we make a stand?
Jack you are right,
I moved and notified the registrar of my new address. They however took their sweet time updating it.
My vehicle excise tax was mailed to the wrong house. They never sent a second notice. 4 years later when I try to renew my license they tell me that a 200 dollar bill is now 950 dollars and that I can not renew my license til it is paid in full.
My answer in short to the state of Massachusetts was “So, since I can’t afford to pay this tax in full, you will take away my ability to make money?”
I am a carpenter and without my truck I will fall through the cracks faster than any of the criminals that they treat like gold out here.
Excellent point and comment thank you
