“Why Did I Have To Be A Girl” by Gabriele Koepp is the first book published about the rapes under a victim’s real name. Mrs Koepp was one of an estimated two million German girls and women raped by Soviet soldiers, encouraged by their leader Josef Stalin to regard the crime as a spoil of war after Hitler’s invasion had left 26 million Russians dead.
“Frau. Komm,” was a phrase that women dreaded hearing from Red Army soldiers. In the weeks after the city fell the rape epidemic was so bad that even the Catholic church countenanced abortion for some victims.
Mrs Koepp told Germany’s Der Spiegel magazine at the weekend that it was on the evening of January 25 1945, when she was 15, that her mother told her to pack quickly as she had to flee. They lived in Schneidemuehl, in the former German region of Pomerania which is now a Polish town called Pila. She and her sister left the next day aboard a cattle train that was supposed to head towards Berlin. But it went in a different direction and the engine was soon blown up by Russian artillery. “The freight car door was locked,” she said. “I managed to climb up and crawl out of a high window. My sister was left behind: I have never seen her again.”
Her ordeal of multiple rape in a nearby village went on for two weeks until she was taken in at a farm and hid from the Soviets.More
Of course, we are never taught this in schools or hear about it on any program-radio or tv. All we hear about is that magical number-6 million and from time to time the effects of WW2 on the civilian population of Japan or what the Japanese military did to the Chinese, Koreans, and others. We never hear about what the Soviets did to Ukrainians and others I am sure. We never hear how German pows were mistreated or about the civilian tragedies like Dresden or the rapes. Why? because the Germans WERE and ARE ALL evil. WW2 was exclusively about the EVIL GERMANS and the INNOCENT jews, no one else. That’s what I learned in NYC public school with ALL jew teachers.
This story breaks my heart in more ways than one.The history of the German citizens at wars ending and for a time afterwards is something that must be brought to light.When one sees the suffering, you realize these survivers and their families owe nothing to anyone( including the hebrews).
This is something that should be made into a movie by some German producer with ‘stones’.
Vilnius, actually I believe a man is trying to get tapes or recordings of women who were raped by the commie dirtbags. I remember reading on more than one occasion that these “men” (loosely categorized) smelled like horses. Strange fact. Anyway, they have waited many years to finally let the truth out. I am glad they found the strength.
