Autumn is in full swing and I’ve just ended a summer road trip; a trip that put over 8,000 miles on my truck. While traveling I kept hearing people talk about how life would be better if they could just move somewhere else. They’d say something like “I’m fed up with life here in Sunshine, USA because I’m sick of illegal immigrants taking over my town. I want to move somewhere else to get away from all this crap.”
These people aren’t just troubled by illegal immigration. They’re troubled by Read more »

Just when you thought your civil liberties were safe, think again. Several police departments in various Florida counties are going high tech and arming their patrol cars with cameras that are hooked up to a new license plate recognition system. As a patrol car drives through traffic these handy devices scan the vehicles in and around the police officer’s vehicle. The recognition software then records the license plate numbers in a database, and then checks that information against a stolen vehicle registry as well as gives the officer the ability to see if the vehicle belongs to a fugitive or a sexual predator. This new surveillance system is possible due to the generosity of the automobile insurance industry in an effort to “protect you.”
Well, I’m sorry to say that I don’t believe the automobile insurance industry when they say they’re doing it to protect me. In fact I’m very concerned about Read more »

What does it mean to be White? |

A long time ago I pondered the question “What does it mean to be White?” At the time I could only think of one thing and that was my skin color. I knew, however, that there was much more to it than that, but I couldn’t think of any good answers, so I shelved the question for a later time. Recently I’ve pulled that question back off of the shelf and gave it some additional consideration. Read more »

Do you ever get the feeling that people have no clue about what’s going on? Why do people run around in circles trying to reinvent the wheel for the umpteenth time? Do you ever wonder why people repeat the same things over and over again like a broken record? And, why do people say one thing, but do something completely different?
That’s where I’m at in my journey. I’m extremely frustrated to the point that I don’t think I’ll ever find the answers to those questions. You know I’ve always said that thinking gets me in trouble. After many days of thought on these questions, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I’m in trouble and I’ll probably need some help. Maybe I can explain why.
The people out there that haven’t a clue about what’s going on are lost souls that need some serious guidance. Read more »

Hey, I’ve been gone for a couple of weeks, but I’m back and catching up on my reading. It never fails though, you go away for a little bit, and when you return the landscape of everything changes radically. I’m not talking a just a little bit. This morning I feel like I’m starting from square one again. I guess that’s how life goes sometimes. Always flying along at a record pace, if you blink, what you knew is no more.
This morning I’m leaning back in my chair puzzling about the number of articles out there that proclaim the end of the world is near. Near?!?!?!? How about here! And dare I say past? My friends, our race didn’t just blink on this one, we’ve kept our eyes closed for far too long. Read more »

Why is it always the race card in cases like this? -DS
BY BETH CAMPBELL
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The owner of an upscale steakhouse in Louisville said he asked O.J. Simpson to leave his restaurant the night before the Kentucky Derby because he is sickened by the attention Simpson attracts.
”I didn’t want to serve him because of my convictions of what he’s done to those families,” Jeff Ruby said. ”The way he continues to torture the lives of those families … with his behavior, attitude and conduct.” Read more »

Give me a break! I’m really upset today! This immigration rhetoric has just got to stop!
I’m sitting here watching C-Span and their guest this morning is Representative Gutierrez from Illinois who’s putting a positive spin on the immigration issue facing this country. The Congressman has introduced new legislation to the House that will legalize every undocumented worker in this country (hello amnesty) through background checks and biometric id cards. This legislation is H.R. 1645 http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c110:H.R.1645:
First of all, they’re not “undocumented workers” They’re ILLEGAL ALIENS! They violated our laws, and as such they need to be deported immediately with their families back to their country of origin!
In my opinion his proposed legislation only addresses a symptom and is a band-aide patch on the overall problem. The problem is that the federal government is broken. The Congressman admitted as much in his interview. Read more »

On reflection of my racial awareness journey there’s been one thing lacking out there. It’s lost somewhere between the bickering, pointed jabs, and the slander. My friends, I’m speaking of positive things that you can do, and others are doing, to make a difference for our race. I hope this article gives some food for thought as to how this might be accomplished. So let’s not waste any time and get to it, shall we?
First off, let me squash a stereotype. “White people” …hmm…. There’s an oldie but goodie. Contrary to popular belief we’re not bad people. We’re not a bunch of loons sitting in front of our keyboards trying to slam the next poor sap that happens our way. Read more »

I watched C-Span this past Thursday as the house debated and then passed HR 1592. It was a bill designed to expand the definitions of hate crimes, increase federal involvement in them, and was coined as the “thought crime bill” by some on the opposing side of the isle. Democrats were adamantly for the bill, Republicans against.
Throughout the debate I saw one interesting thing happening in Congress. Right there on C-Span, Congress was engaged in a debate along racial lines. Yes, it would seem that the idea of protecting your race has infiltrated Congress, although I’m sure they would have a different point of view on the subject. After noticing that, I thought I’d go dig up a few facts in the House Press Gallery. Here’s some interesting demographics that I found… Read more »

As we learn in this article, control is everything. -DS
WASHINGTON - Is MySpace always mine or can it belong to someone else? At the cost of losing 160,000 friends, Democrat Barack Obama’s presidential campaign has taken over control of the MySpace page listed under his name on the popular social networking site.
The case highlights the struggle between campaigns’ desire to control their message versus the power of voter-generated material. And it shows how one person , in this case Los Angeles paralegal Joe Anthony , can become an influence on presidential politics through the power of the Internet. Read more »

Tolerance or Intolerance? You decide! |

Today my journey takes me the way of finding out the truth about tolerance.
Tolerance; now there’s a good word. One I’ve heard a lot recently. By definition it means “sympathy or indulgence for beliefs or practices differing from or conflicting with one’s own.” That’s straight from good old Merriam-Webster’s dictionary, not something I made up.
Yes sir, tolerance is what we need across this nation. But shouldn’t tolerance be a two way street? You know, one group tolerates this way, and the other tolerates that way? That’s what I was thinking, but then again, thinking always gets me in trouble. Read more »

Wisconsin Hunter Not Charged With Hate Crime |

James Nichols, a 28 year old white man accused of murdering Cha Vang, a 30 year old Hmong (mong) immigrant, will not be charged with committing a hate crime. The ‘Hmong Today’ newspaper cries for justice, and as a result fuels racial tensions in northern Wisconsin. Vang was killed in January while hunting with Nichols.
Steven Freeman said “Just because a crime is a black on white crime or a white on black crime or a Jewish victim or a gay or lesbian doesn’t necessarily make it a hate crime.” Mr. Freeman is the associate director of civil rights for the Anti-Defamation League in New York.
The prosecutor states that he won’t pursue hate crime charges for “strategic considerations,” without explaining himself further. Read more »

Turning the table |

This week I turn the table to take a different perspective on life. All too often we focus on what we hear, and don’t take a look at the other side of the story. I’m sure this editorial is going to start the mud slinging, so put on your ponchos and get ready!
I recently read an article that wired on the Associated Press about the problem of White Supremacists sharing their video clips on Internet sites like YouTube and Google Video. It was an interesting read, however the author of the article painted a bleak picture; one of hate, crime, intense peer pressure, gullible young men and women, stereotypes, and fear. I was about half way through the article when I paused for a moment. Just then it hit me like a bolt of lighting. Here I am, reading this article, and I’m reading a prime example of “one man’s passion is another man’s hate, and one man’s hate is the other’s passion.” That thought sparked the idea of ‘What if the table was turned? How might things be viewed differently?’ Read more »

LOS ANGELES — The parents of 10 black youths charged with beating three white women in Long Beach on Halloween night plan to announce today that they are filing a claim against the city of Long Beach alleging civil rights violations.
Nine of the youths were convicted while one was acquitted in the case. One of the victims has under gone facial reconstruction surgery, and another suffered permanent sinus damage and loss of peripheral vision.

Lou Dobbs from CNN talks about yet another example of news media cover up. -DS
NEW YORK (CNN) — The Bush administration and the leadership of the Democratic Party are preparing to take another legislative leap at imposing a massive illegal alien amnesty on American citizens.
And the mainstream media are complicit in advancing this thinly veiled blanket amnesty. Instead of asking and answering important questions about why our immigration laws aren’t being enforced and why we’re permitting pervasive document fraud, the national media seem hell-bent on trying to obfuscate the issue, shamelessly playing with language, equating legal immigration with illegal immigration while obviously trying to preserve the illusion of objectivity. It’s been a busy news filled week so far and I’d like to reflect in my weekly editorial on an issue that I feel doesn’t get enough press; literally by design.
All around the nation there’s a mood of frustration against the news media for not covering important newsworthy topics such as the recent double murder in Knoxville, Tennessee. This is a story that centers on a black-on-white violent hate crime that is literally being ignored. Unfortunately this scenario is repeated far too frequently in America today, and the general public is blissfully ignorant. Read more »

Probe of Cal State Long Beach professor sought |

The Southern Poverty Law Center on Tuesday called for an investigation into the campus activities of Kevin MacDonald, a Cal State Long Beach psychology professor whose writings about Jews have been used to support the views of white supremacists.
Of particular concern, according to a center report to be published this week, are MacDonald’s theories suggesting that “Jews, who have typically been in the minority in countries around the world, are compelled by an evolutionary strategy that makes them push for liberal policies, like immigration and diversity, with the intent of weakening the power of the majority that rules them.”
The law center, which has collected statistics for years on what it considers hate groups, wants Cal State to look into what MacDonald is teaching students and wants to shine a light on his voluminous writings on Jews. Read more »

Mayor Gavin Newsom vowed Sunday to maintain San Francisco as a sanctuary for immigrants and do everything he can to discourage federal authorities from conducting immigration raids.
The mayor cannot stop federal authorities from making arrests, Newsom told about 300 mostly Latino members of St. Peter’s Church and other religious groups supporting immigrants. But no San Francisco employee will help with immigration enforcement.
“I will not allow any of my department heads or anyone associated with this city to cooperate in any way shape or form with these raids,” Newsom declared. “We are a sanctuary city, make no mistake about it.” Read more »
